Public banks accept the donations and use the donated blood cord to the person who are in need of it. Public cord blood banks are supported largely by the medical centers. There are many strict regulations that should be followed by the public cord blood banks in order to allow the donated unit of blood to enter the registry of the bank. The parents can also have charge of the cord blood in the bank for a long time so as until their child turns to an adult. The private banks preserve the cord blood so that it might be used in one or the other day. It may be required either for the donor’s baby or by a relative who is a biologically related to the donor. Private cords bank charge bulky fee to preserve the cord blood of the donor through the family’s biological insurance.
